Citizinship Award!

Madelyn was awarded the Citizenship Award. Out of 850 students there were only 6 awarded. Maddy's school is an Excelling School that stresses academic success. ‘Work hard and be nice’ is their motto. By stressing the Character Counts! There are 6 Pillars of character; Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship, they encourage the students to make positive choices and become productive citizens. They have a big school assembly to honor the students awarded. Maddy was recommended for the Citizenship award by her teacher and then a board chooses the best applicants. She was totally surprised to win this award and she did not even know that we were attending. In fact, I had to get her from her class and bring her in just in time for her to receive her award because they were just getting back from the Arizona Science Center. We are extremely proud of her in every way!
